What do you include in the Smartphone SIM card rental package?
All of our international Smartphone rental packages include a SIM card (all sizes are available) for your destination country or countries.
How does the Smartphone SIM card service work?
The Cello Mobile Smartphone SIM arrives ready-to-go with a reliable internet and voice/text message connection wherever you travel. You can't use the SIM card outside of the country or countries that you are traveling to (unless otherwise noted). You will be able to test the SIM card at home (in most situations) by turning data OFF before you insert the SIM card. You will then be able to make a test call, but make sure not to answer to avoid roaming charges.

When do I need to return the international SIM card rental back to Cello Mobile?
International Smartphone SIM card rentals don't have to be shipped back to us. You can keep it on your next trip, or destroy it.
What is the fair usage policy on my service?
Our fair usage policy is printed in the "FAIR USAGE POLICY" box under highlights. Please make sure to review it.
Can I use any apps on my smartphone?
Yes, you can use any apps you like e.g. Waze, Google maps or any other navigation app, and you can browse the web, share Facebook messages or watch movies at no additional charge.
Will I also get a USA based phone number for my Smartphone?
By default your service comes with a UK based phone number, however we can add a USA phone number (NYC area code) to your international smartphone for a setup fee. There may be an additional surcharge for every minute that a call is received on the USA phone number (look below under add-ons).
What data speeds can I expect with my service?
We usually have at least 3G speeds in many countries. 4G LTE is available in most metro areas, but your phone must support the correct LTE bands. Most newer smartphones have a minimum of all 3G bands needed.
How long will it take to receive my international smartphone SIM card rental, and what are my shipping costs?
All orders received before 4pm Monday-Thursday and Friday until 1pm EST can be shipped out the same day. Expedited and urgent delivery options are available on the online order form. Shipping runs between $10-$35 (depending on where you live and how fast you need it). If you order after the cut off time, please make sure to call us in at 1.877.602.2999, to see if we can still ship you out that day. All orders received after the cut off time, will be shipped the following business day. We always make sure that your SIM card rental arrives a couple of days before your trip.
What kind of phone can I use?
You can use any unlocked phone that has the capability to work abroad. A 'locked' phone is one that has been restricted by software so that it can only be used with the original network or carrier it was manufactured for and can only be unlocked by the original carrier.
It is the customer's responsibility to check if the phone is unlocked. There will be no refunds if the phone is found to be locked.
